Frequently Asked Questions
At Sparrow & Dagger, every piece is created by hand—from the original drawing to the final screen print.
Because this is a one-artist studio, no two prints are ever exactly alike.
I value honesty, craftsmanship, and connection, so I want you to know what to expect when you order from me. Each shirt reflects time, care, and the beauty of imperfection that comes with true handmade art.
-
Are all Sparrow & Dagger shirts exactly the same?
Each Sparrow & Dagger piece is individually screen printed by hand, using original artwork drawn in-house. Because of this hands-on process, slight variations in placement, ink texture, or tone may occur—these are not flaws, but part of what makes every print unique. Each one carries the mark of a human hand and an artist’s eye.
-
Why might my shirt look slightly different from the photos?
Each print is created by hand using traditional screen printing techniques, so small differences in ink density or alignment are part of the character of hand-pulled prints. Please also note that I’m an artist, not a professional photographer—my product images are taken in natural light to show the artwork as honestly as possible, but colors and details may appear slightly different on different screens or devices. Every Sparrow & Dagger piece is meant to be experienced in person, where the texture and detail truly come to life.
-
What kind of shirts do you use?
I currently print on quality, standard-weight tees chosen for comfort, softness, and a flattering fit. As my printing process evolves, I plan to transition to premium fabrics that better reflect the level of craftsmanship in the artwork. When that happens, pricing will adjust accordingly—but for now, my goal is to offer beautiful, original art at an accessible price point.
-
Why don’t your product photos look like big brand websites?
Sparrow & Dagger is a one-artist studio—I draw, print, and photograph everything myself. My photos are taken in natural light with minimal editing to represent the artwork honestly. The focus is on the design and craftsmanship, not on polished studio marketing. I believe in showing my work as it really is, and I hope that authenticity comes through.
-
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Because each item is printed by hand and made to order, returns and exchanges are limited. However, if your item arrives damaged or there’s a significant error in printing or size, please contact me within 14 days of delivery so I can make it right.
-
How should I care for my Sparrow & Dagger shirt?
To preserve the integrity of the artwork, wash your shirt inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low (or air dry). Avoid ironing directly on the design.
Because each shirt is individually prepared and cured, you may notice temporary impressions from the heat press or light wrinkles when your shirt arrives. These are normal and will relax after the first wash and dry. For stubborn wrinkles, you can safely iron the shirt on a warm setting—just be sure to keep the iron away from the printed artwork.
